MY APPROACH

My own learning

Over the years, it became clearer and clearer to me that in my line of work with people predominately in mid- to high-level leadership roles there are certain elements all successful development and change processes appear to have in common. In my experience, these occur irrespective of industry, setting, goals, or leadership level.
The way I would summarize them are readiness to be truly introspective, the curiosity to gain new insights about
themselves as well as in relation to the world my clients operate in and a willingness to synthesize and apply the new learning.
Based on my own discovery journey and what I have been learning from the people I work with and their needs, I have distilled it down to three high-level components in terms of my approach to any topic presented to me.
In a way, the work we can do together is that of a “birthing” process where I offer you my expertise, undivided attention, and the safe space to

EXPLORE

where you really are

EXPAND

beyond what you thought possible

EXECUTE

based on new insights and competencies

My general work style and the tools I tend to use, have developed and were continuously refined over the last two decades through extensive coaching and facilitation work, certification as a corporate mediator and in various 360 and personality assessment tools, as well as my academic education in different fields of psychology.

If we embark on this next phase in your leadership journey together, you might notice that my work is also IFS-informed, as I have learned to appreciate over the past couple of years how powerful it can be to better understand how we might interact with the parts of us that can easily take on a life of their own and prevent us from being in our true place of leadership. Instead, our professional as well as our personal lives can easily feel, as if we were constantly overcoming challenges rather than thriving on our strengths.
Just to clarify, I do not work as an IFS therapist. I simply pull from different schools of thought and practice elements that I have learned to appreciate over the years, as they provide helpful and creative components to my work. Systems theory in general has been an integral part and a foundational concept in my professional life since my university days. What Richard Schwartz, Ph.D., has added is a powerful and sophisticated methodology around working with and integrating the internal system of parts. Definitely worth exploring.

The magic of the diamond

You & I working together as partners

Based on my approach, you can expect of me to hold the space of true connection and exploration where you can feel safe and encouraged to go to places of insight you are typically less inclined to visit or that might even feel vulnerable. I am referring to the places where we tend to find the hidden gems that allow us to bring out our inner diamond more and more. Looking at all the facets, those we are comfortable with and those who offer us valuable learning still.
Allowing for organic and creative unfolding of the most suitable way forward is one of the pillars of my work. It speaks to my trust in the partnership with my clients and that the deeper cues and answers are for us to identify along the journey rather than have them all set in stone at the beginning.

The magic of the diamond

It is a journey

What will be needed from you is a commitment to truly go on that journey and to take ownership of your development, with me as your growth facilitator.

We all know how tempting it can be to have someone offer us the answers we so long for to reach a supposedly easier life. That desire tends to apply to our work and our leadership roles as well. Yet, over and over again, I have made the experience that it is only when my clients own their growth journey, that the changes they pursue are sustainable. In other words, the impetus and the willingness to find the—for you—best way forward needs to come from you.
I am a believer in goal setting and so we will always start by looking at where you want to go and what makes that vision attractive. At the same time, as we go deeper into the exploration and expansion phase, we might find a more aligned path, taking you to less expected places, yet, more in line with the person and leader you are becoming.
