The Joy of a New Beginning

For the last two years, working through my own transitions was pretty much a constant. If I ever thought life could become about ‘reaching’ a certain point or level and remaining there comfortably for at least a few years, I have finally omitted that goal.

Most certainly, a good number of people would disagree, and I am happy for them. At the same time, and without frustration, I can say that it appears to not be for me. The way my life story keeps unfolding and the way I have been embracing the challenges coming my way, tell me that there is lots to learn and grow in many ways for all of us, incl. myself. While the term ‘the only constant in life is change’ has become a bit of a cliché, there is also comfort in it because of the way I interpret it. That we receive countless opportunities to learn and grow and sometimes even reinvent ourselves in quite large ways.

As for myself, the constant evolvement offers me the opportunity to relate even more to the many challenges you as my clients present to me. It allows me to show up in an even more compassionate manner, while naturally keeping your topics separate from my own experience. We all learn and grow differently and that is part of the beauty of my line of work. Every new client is a new beginning, no matter how “similar” or “familiar” their story sounds. It is a great privilege to engage in the work I get to call my profession, not just as leadership coach, but in a deeper sense as a growth-journey facilitator and witness. And doing it in the most respectful, caring, and skillful way I have been able to.

Over the last few years, I have also noticed that I approach my client engagements in a less limited and limiting way, but rather in a more complex and creative manner, as in a bit more eclectic and tailored to what my clients are actually ready for. An earlier version of myself would have felt much more tied to specific models, schools of thoughts, or “formulas” to be a specific type of coach, mediator, growth facilitator. Today, I see a lot of beauty in taking the liberty of staying even more focused on what my clients really need and what will support them most effectively in the current stage of their growth journey. Consequently, they can show up empowered and with authenticity as leaders in their professional realities as well as their personal lives.

That brings me to where I have settled as my new approach: To explore (with you) where you are at this time, how you want to expand and grow and how you can take action and execute on your vision at this moment.

I look forward to many more journeys …
